About Easttown Library
Easttown Library & Information Center is located in Berwyn, Pennsylvania and was founded in 1905. The Library serves the residents of Easttown Township and the township is the Library's primary source of funding. The Library is a member of the Chester County Library System which consists of the 18 public libraries in the county.

Mission Statement: The Easttown Library is a community center that advances literacy and the love of reading and learning, and provides information through a variety of formats and technologies.

The Role of the Library is to:

-Maintain collections of popular fiction and nonfiction titles for adults, teens and children in a variety of formats.

-Provide access to computer technology and information resources for all of our customers, including training in information technology.

-Provide reference services in a variety of formats to customers of all ages.

-Support pre- and early literacy through a variety of programs that instill a love of books and reading.

-Enable access to extensive collections for both research and leisure reading.

Brief Scope of Collection:

The Library has approximately 59,000 items in three areas: adult, teen and children's. There is also a reference collection with many business resources, a wide selection of general interest magazines and newspapers, and a Local History Collection. Materials are available in print (including large print), DVD, music CD, book on CD and graphic novel formats. Video games are available for Wii and Xbox 360 systems. In addition, Easttown Library offers access to a wide array of electronic information sources through the Chester County Library System home page and the Access PA Power Library.

Computer Workstations and Internet Access:

The Library has 27 public workstations, including in the children's and teen areas, with high-speed internet access and the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher). The Library also has free wireless internet access available to the public.  Two workstations have Adobe Photoshop CS3.

Meeting Rooms:

The Library has meeting rooms available for public use. The meeting room policy, fees and reservation form are available on the Library's Web site.
