Easttown Library has 27 computers available for public use. All of these computers run on Windows XP and have Microsoft Office 2007 Professional (Word, Excel, Picture Manager, Power Point, Publisher, Access and Paint) installed on them. With the exception of the 5 computers in Youth Services, all computers are networked to both the black and white and color printers located at the circulation desk.
The library also has free unsecured wireless internet access, use of which is governed by the Chester County Library System's Internet Acceptable Use Policy. Connections are filtered to comply with federal law. Customers must have a computer and wireless network adaptor that supports the 802.11g protocol. At the present time, there are no wireless printers available.

Special software applications and peripheral hardware
Special software applications have been loaded onto certain computers. These include:
Adobe Photoshop CS3: professional imaging software for picture editing. Installed on Adult 9 and Adult 12 computers.
Overdrive: download audiobooks from the Chester County Library System for free. Installed on selected computers at the library for demonstration purposes only. Please call or email us for an appointment.
Special Links to Web sites for beginning computer users: All computers located in the Harron Technology Center.
Learning Express Library: free access to a wide range of tutorials through the Chester County Library System. Icon is located on the Desktop of all public computers.
Special peripheral hardware is attached to three computers:

HP Scanjet G4050: enables you to scan slides, negatives, or pictures into digital format. Installed on Adult 9 and Adult 12 computers.

HP Scanner: enables you to scan in camera cards, photos into digital format. Also has printer capabilities. Installed on Harron 5 computer. A special login is needed to access this scanner. Please ask staff at the Circulation Desk or the Information Desk to log you on to use it.
Easttown Library owns a Nook, Kindle, and Sony Reader to demonstrate downloading library eBooks, and for customer use in the Library.
Earbud Headphones: available for sale at the Circulation Desk for $1.50.
